In this section, I share the topics I’m learning at university and the skills I’m developing on my own. Somethings come from classes, others from curiosity.
take a graphic design course on YouTube or something. My design skills are kinda ugly
Writing code feels like making a bracelet following a pattern
C++, My first programming language is the one I have practiced the most. It’s still my favorite. I love C++ and I want to learn how to make things that actually work in the real world
Python, I’ve learned it in class, but I haven’t written much code on my own yet
Java, I’ve done a few small things with NetBeans, but I’ve never worked with Java outside of it. I’d like to try that too
Not a skill, more like a hobby. I have been doing animations in my DSI since I have memory, of course they were ugly
AI is powerful and fast, but I don't want it to replace my own thinking
I have to admit, when it's university work, time usually wins and I end up using AI more than I'd like
But when I build things on my own, at my own pace (with many breaks in between),I feel much more motivated to experiment and argue with ChatGPT
I learn much better by doing instead of reading
One method that worked well for me is using AI to generate practice questions from a topic list. Instead of making flashcards myself (which I find boring), I ask the AI to create questions and quiz me
Answering questions and getting immediate feedback helps me remember things much faster than just reading notes or listening to someone explain it (I forget everything instantantly)
